Mount Popa – Myanmar Part III

I didn’t think the expedition to Mount Popa could be better than the day spent exploring Bagan, but it was.

All I know about that place was that it’s a well-known pilgrimage site and that there would be some monkeys. Well, there weren’t some monkeys: there were hundreds  of monkeys.

There were local womens on the way to the top of the mount selling bananas and peanuts so, by the time we started climb the stairs, we were surrounded by a group of fuzzy and cute but unexpectedly aggressive monkeys.

I was surprised – and pretty scared – by how easily they started to snatch food and hiss at people too close to them. Not exactly what I expected, but they were still pretty cute.

The view from the top of the Mount Popa was amazing.
