The ethnic mixture of Lisbon – Portugal

Honestly, Lisbon is one of my favourite places in the entire world.

Few cities have its charme, fewer can boast a intriguing variety of faces in its streets. In the oldest neighborhoods, stepped alleys are lined with pastel-colour houses and, here and there, it happens to find marvelous spots from where you can enjoy spectacular river or city view.

Blue and white ceramic tiles decorate churches, shops and fountains of the historical centre, while other areas of Lisbon prefer to leave behind the classical appearance and replace it with bright and cosmopolitan office blocks, with every hidden corner adorned with colourful street art.

The slightly disorganized Lisbon is an example of globalization: walking in the streets you’ll meet people from Brazil, North Europe and even from the former Portuguese colonies in Africa. And they rapidly become integrated.

Something to think about, especially in these days.

Apart from the main attractions of the city, we decided to spend some time inside the Berardo Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and it had been the biggest surprise of our journey – don’t miss to go there.
