I know it sounds like a commonplace, but Caribbean sea is amazing.
From Cienfuegos we arrived in Playa Larga area to escape from the crazy hot weather and enjoy a little of diving. We were told that area has one of the best reef of entire Cuba and, unlike the well-known Varadero, we could enjoyed wonderful beaches without being choked by hundreds of tourists.
Our time there was lovely. We dived inside the dark and creepy caves of the 70 mt depth cenote in the Cueva de los Peces – and trust me, it was frightful and terrific at the same time. It’s a pity that there wasn’t enough light to take good shots, but maybe also that can give the idea about how unforgettable that dive was.
The day after we drove to Punta Perdiz, a spot just nearby Playa Larga that was even more beautiful. We decided for a early morning dive and, from the moment we pluged to very end of the dive, we were followed by crazy friendly silver and yellow fishes.
Indeed, it was ridicously fun: I believe they thought we had some food with us because they literally looking for something inside our gears. In past it happened that some fishes allowed to be touched by us, but that was the very first time I had to push them away.
I’ve never met fishes so insistent.
